Loupe Copilot

Loupe Copilot is the chat assistant built into your Loupe Factory dashboard. Ask a question in plain language and get a clear answer drawn from your own business data: sales, customers, inventory, production, shipments, and invoices.

Use Copilot when you need a direct answer faster than opening several reports, filtering tables, or asking another teammate to check a record.

Loupe Copilot launch video, a 1 minute 30 second walkthrough of asking business questions from the Home dashboard.

What You Can Ask

Loupe Copilot is built for everyday operational questions, not technical query language. You can ask things like:

  • "Who are my top customers this year?"
  • "Which orders are ready to ship?"
  • "Do we have this item in stock, and where?"
  • "Which production jobs are running late?"
  • "Which invoices are overdue?"
  • "How do I create a sales order?"

You can describe things the way your team does in daily work. Copilot can use notes and record context, so a question like "find orders where the customer asked for blue stones" can work even when the exact words are not stored in a single report column.

How Copilot Answers

Copilot answers from the information already connected inside Loupe Factory. It can summarize live records, explain what changed, and give you links to open the exact records behind the answer.

Typical answers can help you:

  • review top customers, open orders, overdue invoices, or shipment status
  • find available stock by item, location, quality, size, or tag
  • identify late production jobs and the stage where work is blocked
  • understand why a number changed across inventory, orders, or invoices
  • get step-by-step help for "how do I" workflow questions

When a question needs current outside information, such as a market price or currency rate, Copilot can look up information on the web and show the sources it used. It can then combine that outside context with the business data you are already allowed to see in Loupe Factory.

Getting Started From the Home Dashboard

Loupe Copilot is available from the Loupe Factory Home dashboard. There is nothing to install and no separate tool to learn.

  1. Open your Home dashboard.
  2. Type a question in the ask box, or choose a suggested question.
  3. Read the answer and open any linked records for detail.
  4. Ask a follow-up if you want Copilot to narrow the answer, explain the reason, or compare it with another period, customer, location, or workflow.

Start with a question you would normally ask a teammate. For example, ask what orders need attention today, which production jobs are running late, or whether a specific item is available to ship.

Data Protection and Access

Loupe Copilot follows the same access rules as the rest of Loupe Factory.

  • It answers using only your organization's business data.
  • Your business information is not used to train AI models.
  • Each person only sees information they are already allowed to view.
  • Copilot is read-only. It can look up and explain records, but it cannot change, delete, move, or approve anything.
  • Confidential details are kept out of answers when a person's role should not see them.

For the full role model, see Security and Access.

AI Credits and Billing

Loupe Copilot uses the same AI credit balance as other built-in AI workflows in Loupe Factory. Your plan includes a monthly AI credit allowance, and admins can top up credits when the team needs more capacity.

Credits apply when you ask Copilot a question. Normal dashboard work, opening records, and opening reports do not use credits.

For details on balances, top-ups, overage settings, and invoices, see AI Credits & Billing.

Tips for Better Questions

  • Be specific about the period, customer, item, location, or workflow if you already know it.
  • Ask for the next action when you want an operational list, such as orders to ship or production jobs that need follow-up.
  • Ask a follow-up instead of starting over. Copilot keeps the thread context and can narrow the previous answer.
  • Open linked records before taking action when the answer affects a shipment, invoice, production job, or customer follow-up.
