Lighting Fixtures Starting Point¶
Loupe Factory starts lighting businesses with starter catalogs and workflow labels for decorative fixtures that are part metalwork, part electrical assembly, and part decorative craft. The starter catalog covers chandeliers, pendants, flush and semi-flush mounts, wall sconces, vanity lights, picture and task lights, outdoor fixtures, mirrors, knock-down kits, and replacement parts.
A single chandelier can pass through fabrication, welding, polishing, plating, wiring, crystal dressing, safety testing, and fragile packing before it ships. These defaults give every one of those teams the same names for the same item, so a finish problem found at final QA points back to a specific batch of parts instead of a guess.
Best fit
Choose Lighting Fixtures when your work combines metal fabrication and decorative finishing with electrical assembly, safety testing, and fragile-goods dispatch. The defaults support catalog production, custom and hospitality projects, and after-sales replacement parts.
Operational scope
Labels such as Tested & Approved, QC Passed, and the outdoor and ADA product names record your team's own operational status. They do not grant or represent a safety listing, a certification mark, an ADA determination, or a damp- or wet-location rating. Keep those decisions and records in the testing, certification, and compliance processes your responsible teams already use.
Starter Snapshot¶
| Setting | Lighting Fixtures starting point |
|---|---|
| Price basis | Per piece |
| Default weight unit | Pound (lb) |
| Product emphasis | Interior and outdoor decorative fixtures, mirrors, kits, and replacement parts |
| Material emphasis | Metals, sockets and wiring, LED modules and drivers, crystal, glass, shades, finishing supplies, and protective packaging |
| Measurement emphasis | Fixture width, height and projection, chain and downrod lengths, light count, wattage, color temperature, and carton size |
| Workflow emphasis | Design release, incoming inspection, fabrication, finishing, wiring, decorative assembly, testing, packing, and service |
Admins can change these values and catalogs after setup.
Common abbreviations in the starter labels include LED for light-emitting diode, CRI for color rendering index, ADA for Americans with Disabilities Act, BOM for bill of materials, QA for quality assurance, QC for quality control, EHS for environment, health and safety, and LTL for less-than-truckload freight. Measurement labels use W for watts, K for kelvin, lm for lumens, and lb for pounds.

Default Item Attributes¶
Every lighting inventory item starts with these item attribute keys as empty rows, so the specification details a designer, an electrician, or a returns agent asks for stay with the stock record. Teams can fill in what applies and add any other key they need.
| Default attribute key | User-friendly definition |
|---|---|
| Wattage | The power draw or maximum lamp wattage with units, such as 60 W or 3 x 40 W. |
| Voltage | The operating voltage with units, such as 120 V or 220-240 V. |
| Bulb Base | The lamp base or socket type, such as E26, E12, GU10, or B22. |
| No of Lights | The number of lamps or sockets in the fixture, recorded as a whole number, such as 5. |
| Light Temperature | The correlated color temperature with units, such as 2700K or 3000K, or the source document's wording, such as Warm White. |
| Glass Type | The glass or shade material and treatment, such as Clear Crystal, Frosted, Seeded Glass, or Alabaster. |
To compare these values across several items, use Show attributes in an inventory table. Search also finds values such as 220-240 V or Warm White while the columns are closed.
Note
Finish is not an attribute here. A fixture's decorative finish, such as aged brass, matte black, or polished nickel, is recorded in the item's Color field, so finish stays searchable and filterable across the inventory table.
Default Cost Components¶
Lighting businesses start with these cost component types. A single chandelier can carry metal, crystal, wiring, plating, royalties, and freight at once, so costing it as one lump makes it impossible to see which part moved when the margin slips.
| Cost component | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Metal | Steel, brass, aluminum, copper, or other metal stock used in the body, frame, arms, canopy, or mounting parts. |
| Fabricated part | Cut, formed, machined, cast, welded, or brazed body and frame parts made for the fixture. |
