Furniture Starting Point

Loupe Factory starts furniture businesses with starter catalogs and workflow labels for made-to-order production, repeat wholesale products, and project work. The starter catalog covers seating, tables, beds, storage, office, hospitality, outdoor, modular, and custom furniture.

It also gives operations teams practical labels for wood, panels, hardware, upholstery, foam, finishes, work in progress, quality checks, packing, and dispatch. This is especially useful when sales, production, warehouses, and delivery teams need to describe the same item in the same way.

Best fit

Choose Furniture when your work moves through cutting, machining, assembly, upholstery or finishing, final quality checks, and bulky-goods dispatch. The defaults support both standard products and customer-specific dimensions.

Starter Snapshot

Setting Furniture starting point
Price basis Per piece
Default weight unit Kilogram (kg)
Product emphasis Furniture families plus the materials used to build, protect, and ship them
Measurement emphasis Length, width or depth, height, thickness, diameter, furniture-specific dimensions, and weight capacity
Workflow emphasis Material receipt, component preparation, assembly, finish, quality review, packing, and dispatch

Admins can change these values and catalogs after setup.

Common abbreviations in the starter labels include CNC for computer numerical control, CAD for computer-aided design, MDF for medium-density fiberboard, HDF for high-density fiberboard, HPL for high-pressure laminate, PU for polyurethane, PPE for personal protective equipment, QA for quality assurance, and QC for quality control.

Default Item Attributes

Every furniture inventory item starts with these item attribute keys as empty rows, so the spec details a showroom, a contract client, or a delivery crew asks for are already on the record. Teams can fill in what applies and add any other key they need.

Default attribute key User-friendly definition
Dimensions The overall assembled size as width x depth x height with units, such as 180 x 90 x 75 cm. Keep the order and units used by the source document.
Material The primary structural material of the piece, such as Solid Oak, Powder-Coated Steel, or Rattan. Do not use this key for upholstery fabric.
Upholstery The covering fabric or leather on seating surfaces, such as Full-Grain Leather, Boucle, or Linen Blend.
Wood Finish The surface finish or stain applied to the wood, such as Walnut Stain, Matte Lacquer, or Whitewash.
Weight Capacity The maximum load the piece is rated to support, with units, such as 150 kg or 300 lb. Record the load rating, not the item's own weight.
Assembly Required Whether the buyer must assemble the piece. Use Yes, No, or the source document's wording, such as Flat Pack or Fully Assembled.

To compare these values across several items, use Show attributes in an inventory table. Search also finds values such as Solid Oak or 150 kg while the columns are closed.

Default Cost Components

Furniture businesses start with these cost component types, so a quote separates timber, fabric, hardware, shop time, and outside work instead of hiding them in one number that is hard to defend on a contract bid.

Cost component What it covers

Panel Plywood, MDF, HDF, and particle board used for carcasses, shelves, doors, and panels.
Veneer & laminate Natural veneer, engineered veneer, laminates, and edge treatments applied to panels or tops.
