Product Settings¶
Use Admin Settings > Product Settings to manage the catalog structure your team uses across Loupe Factory. Admins can set the default weight unit, manage product types, organize size groups, assign shapes to the right groups, and reset product catalogs when needed.
Before You Start¶
Only admins can open Admin Settings > Product Settings. If you do not have admin access, ask an existing admin to make these changes for you.
Default Weight Unit¶
Use the General section to set the default weight unit used when your team creates new product and inventory records.
- Go to Admin Settings > Product Settings.
- In General, choose the Default weight unit.
- Click Save Settings.
This setting helps keep new records consistent across the workspace.

Managing Product Types¶
Use Product Types to define the main catalog labels your team works with, such as product families, collections, or commercial categories.

Add a Product Type¶
- Go to Admin Settings > Product Settings.
- In Product Types, click Add product type.
- Enter the Product type name.
- Enter the Short name if your team uses internal codes.
- Leave Active enabled if the type should be available right away.
- Click Save.
The short name must use exactly four uppercase letters or digits.
Edit, Activate, or Remove a Product Type¶
- In the Product Types list, find the type you want to update.
- Use the search bar if you need to narrow the list.
- Use the Active checkbox to enable or disable the type.
- Open the row's three-dot menu to choose Edit or Remove.
- If you edit the type, update the fields and click Save.
Use deactivation when a product type should no longer appear for new work, but you still want to keep a cleaner history than deleting records immediately.
Managing Size Groups¶
Use the Sizes section to create reusable size groups and manage the size values inside each group. These groups can then be assigned to shapes.

Add a Size Group¶
- Go to Admin Settings > Product Settings.
- In Sizes, click Add group.
- Enter the Group name.
- Enter one or more size values in the size field.
- Leave Active enabled if the group should be available right away.
- Click Save.
Update Size Options in an Existing Group¶
- In the Size Groups list, find the group you want to update.
- Open the row's three-dot menu and select Edit.
- In Current Size Options, keep the size values you still want in the group.
- In Add Size Values, enter any new sizes you want to add.
- Save the size option changes.
- If needed, update the Group name or Active status.
- Click Save Size Group.
This editing flow is useful when you need to refine a size range without creating a brand new group.
Remove a Size Group¶
- Find the group in the Size Groups list.
- Open the row's three-dot menu.
- Select Remove.
- Confirm the action.
Managing Shapes¶
Use Shapes to define form factors and connect each shape to the size groups that apply to it.

Add a Shape¶
- Go to Admin Settings > Product Settings.
- In Shapes, click Add shape.
- Enter the Shape name.
- Select one or more Size groups if they are available.
- Leave Active enabled if the shape should be available right away.
- Click Save.
If you do not see any size groups to assign, create them first in the Sizes section.
Edit, Activate, or Remove a Shape¶
- In the Shapes list, find the shape you want to update.
- Use the search bar if you need to narrow the list.
- Use the Active checkbox to enable or disable the shape.
- Open the row's three-dot menu to choose Edit or Remove.
- If you edit the shape, update the name or assigned size groups.
- Click Save Shape.
Resetting Product Settings¶
Use the Reset section when you want to return product catalogs to the industry defaults for your workspace.
Warning
Reset actions take effect immediately. Review the warning text carefully and make sure your team is ready before you continue.

Reset Product Types¶
- Go to Admin Settings > Product Settings.
- Scroll to Reset.
- In Product Types Catalog, click Reset Product Types.
- Confirm the action if prompted.
This reset removes custom product types that are not part of the preset catalog. If a product type is already referenced elsewhere, Loupe Factory marks it inactive instead of deleting it.
Reset Shapes and Sizes¶
- Go to Admin Settings > Product Settings.
- Scroll to Reset.
- In Shapes & Sizes Configuration, click Reset Shapes & Sizes.
- Confirm the action if prompted.
This reset permanently deletes custom size groups, size options, and shapes, then reloads the default configuration for your industry.
